Meet.... Hygge Hot Chocolate

Ben (left) and I (right) have worked together for the best part of a decade. He is the food safety & manufacturing guru whilst I am the guy responsible for the concept, branding and product development.
Why Hot Chocolate? Well... We love good hot chocolate but we really haven't found one yet so we knew we could do better. The UK hot chocolate market really isn't as big as it should be. We have all the ingredients to be big hot chocolate drinkers - the love of a hot drink and wrapping our hands round a mug, the weather, and we have been obsessed with chocolate since the mid 19th century. We think the lack of an amazing single serve adult gourmet hot chocolate in the market is a key reason for this. Our hot chocolate is frickin' delicious. It is simple, unpretentious and is solely about having a happy calm hot chocolate filled moment.
Why Hygge? It is really close to our heart. My wife and I try and think about the principles of Hygge in our everyday life. The things that make us feel happy and calm, we try to do more of. The things that don't, we try to do less of or remove from our lives. It sounds simple. It is simple. It is quite hard to achieve when life is so chaotic and quick. A cup of hot chocolate is a really Hygge experience but the act of giving yourself (or someone else) the time to do this really links to our mindfulness and well being. We've all been impacted by negative mental wellbeing in one way or another. As I've got older, I've really noticed how much of our lives we spend being anxious or stressed. This really is lost time.

I have been in a few corporate board rooms where corporate social responsibility ("CSR") is a tick box exercise. It is really hard for large companies to retrospectively fix their culture. We want to start right, from our use of recyclable & compostable packaging to picking the right charity to partner with. It's the right thing to do and Anxious Minds speak our language.
