When it comes to mindfulness, we believe there is nothing better that enjoying delicious hot chocolate.
Our hot chocolate is a moment of comfort, calm and sanctuary that can help the chaos that is our everyday. Sipping a warm cup of hot chocolate can be a grounding experience, helping you to stay present and focused on the present moment.
We love making ours in a pan as it feels like a ritual of self-care, however the microwave is quicker and throwing it in a milk-frother is even quicker (and even more awesome!). Taking time for self-care is so important, by focusing on the process of making your hot chocolate, you can bring your attention to the present moment and cultivate a sense of calm and focus.
Try our meditation with our Hygge Hot Chocolate:
Get really comfy. Under your favourite throw or by the fire, wherever you feel safe and away from distractions. Turn your phone on silent and pop it in another room.
Hold the cup in both hands. Feel the warmth. Breathe in deeply and clear your mind. Let go of any distractions or worries and focus on the present moment.
Observe the appearance of the hot chocolate. Notice the colour, consistency, and texture of the drink. Take a moment to appreciate the beauty of the beverage in front of you. What can you see? Focus on it.
Bring the cup to your nose and inhale deeply. Pay attention to the aroma of the hot chocolate. Notice the warmth coming from the drink. What do you smell? Does it remind you of anything? Let your mind wander to that pleasant place for a minute.
Take a sip and bring yourself back. Let the chocolate coat your tongue while closing your eyes. Focus on the mouthfeel, it should coat your mouth. Is it like velvet? Think about the words you may use to describe it? Do the same separately with the flavour. What do you notice?
Allow yourself to fully experience the moment. Savour the flavour and sensations you feel. Let the drink bring you comfort and joy. Pay attention to your body's response. Notice how the drink makes you feel physically and emotionally. How do you feel?
Repeat the process of sipping and savouring, taking your time to fully appreciate the hot chocolate.
As you finish the cup, take a moment to reflect on the experience. What are your thoughts?
